
It is normal for people to shed around 50-100 strands of hair every day. However, seeing the amount of hair lost when combing or when having a shower can leave some people depressed. There are many reasons and factors for hair loss. These include hereditary factors, stress, hormonal imbalance and certain medications, lack of nutrition, sudden weight loss and ageing. The following diet may provide some help:
PROTEIN: Yoghurt, milk, cheese, beans, seeds and nuts.VITAMIN B ESPECIALLY B6, FOLIC ACID AND BIOTIN: Tomatoes,carrots, walnuts, onions, almonds, strawberries, raspberries, cucumber, cabbage and cauliflower.
IRON: Whole grains, brocccoli, soy beans and dark leafy vegetables.
ZINC: Beans, whole grains, almonds and dairy products.
TRACE MINERAL SILICA: Oats, brown rice, roots vegetables, barley and leafy greens.
OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS: Walnuts and flaxseed oil.
